Franz Kafka

I think that some of his stories were kind of hard to follow. Like the story Before the Law was hard for me because it didn't make sense. His stories were like a surprise or it was meant for us to figure it out towards the end of the story. His stories were short but it had a lot of details. Kafka was a new author that I have never heard of before and I have never read his stories either. His stories has taught me that some people can have long temper and patience if they want something.

My First Semester

My first semester went pretty well. I was really proud of myself because I did better than I thought. I didn't know how easy school was until I saw what my grades were. Yes I know thats funny of me to say but it's true. I also met new classmates and communicate with my teachers more than I expected. I hope that my GPA increased because my GPA is somewhat kind of low. I'm trying my best to bring up my GPA as best as I can. I know it's going to be tough but I wont let that stop me. I want to go to college and start my career of becoming either a medical assistance or a nurse.
What I like about first semester was that all of my classes this year was pretty easy. I've met many friendly classmates and teachers. But what I'm really excited for is that first semester was a very huge success and I'm hoping that the second semester well turn out better.

Lady Macbeth

Lady Macbeth seem really hard core around people, but when things starts to happen she backs off and act like a scared person. In the relationship between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, she is more of the big person who is in charge. I can't believe she made Macbeth kill Duncan. I think that is just evil of her. I don't really who is she around people and Macbeth. I don't know why people can't just be themself. But I know that Lady Macbeth is going to regret it and when she wants to turn around and be a good person, it will be too late her.

Macbeth

About Macbeth, it's interesting but I can't seem to really get a imagery from it. I tried but I guess I have never read Shakespeare before. The words are so much different from those other books. I think that's the reason why I can't seem to understand it that much. I hope that it'll get better later on and I hope I can start picturing the scene. By the way is there a movie about Macbeth? I totally forgot.

Journal Two

I think that the changes are some what hurting him but at the same times its helping him. It's hurting him because Luo, Old Miller, and the Little Seamstress all are telling him a different story. But at the same time the narrator is getting all of the information, which is almost the same. I still think that the changes hurt him more because now he has to watch the Seamstress while Luo have to back home to his mother.

Journal Number One

I don't think there is a particular place for storytelling anymore. If there is, it would be told in movies. But I believe that Luo's right about the Margina status of storytelling in Modern society. Back then there wasn't good use of technology because they didn't have any. All they can do was to tell it out. Even now my mom and my grandma still tells my family stories about their lives back then when they were still young.

Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress Journal

What does Ursule Mirouet mean to the characters? Why do you think Four Eyes gave Luo and the narrator this book versus any of the other Western books in his possession? How does this book significant to the meaning of the novel?

I think Ursule Mirouet is the title of the book that Luo and the narrator is reading and Balzac is the author. The reason why Four-Eyes gave Luo and the narrator this book was because this book was about romance and it talks about real life. Ursule's story was about messy affair over inheritance and money, enhancing the power in Nemours. Plus, this was the first book that they've read, because back then books were banned. The only books that were available was written by General Mao. The other reason why the narrator wanted to read this book was because the narrator wanted to teach it to the Little Seamstress.
